|
I have a 2000 vw golf tdi done 130k on the clock, i was driving on motorway oil light came up there was low oil filled it up at service station, drove 2 miles there was loss of speed and it started smoking black smoke, stopped checked oils there was no oil left it seems like oil was burnt out, no big clangs or big noises just black smoke fogging the motorway, pulled up and got towed, Any one with anyone with suggestions for a layman?

Hello, MMMmmmmm 2 potential sources. Turbo chargers have oil cooled bearings. A failing turbo pumps oil in to the intake.
The second can be a number of internal engine problems. I would check the turbo first. Allan
