Hate to be so negative, but...I've been trying to get an answer on a problem on my 2007 Passat wagon for several days now. Not one response! I noticed, in a lot of the other posts (volkswagen Passat section of forum) that hardly anyone had responses to their posts. What's up with that? I finally gave up and paid $15 to the JustAnswer page and got a good answer to my question. But I belong to two other forums; the Corvette forum and one on the Mini Cooper. Both forums are unbelievabe, especially the Corvette forum. You actually make friends there, and quite easily. Paying for an answer is unheard of! Posts are replied to often, and everyone is very helpful. Same with the Mini forum, but a little less so. Bottom line is, this forum does suck. Unless it's me and how I'm using it. I did the intro bit (no response...kiss my a** or nothing) then posted my question on the Passat portion...no response again. So...I'll keep my great little Passat wagon, but I'm losing this forum! Oh, one more thing: a good forum is not all about the colors, layout, etc, but about the people. Corvette owners are very passionate about their cars, as are Mini owners (I'm fortunate to have one of each, plus my little blue Passat), but I'm not seeing alot of passion from VW owners...? For a good example, go to any of the forum sections on here, and look at the "replies" column; how many zeros do you see? I apologize for not having the time or patience to stay and help build a good forum. Good luck to you all. Sorry for all the ranting. I am done.

Hello Phil, Yes, I am one of the people that tries to help. Like any group we are only as strong as our knowlege base, and the available time of a few to attempt much. A lot of the questions asked are complex. Worse Most asking have next to zero mechanical skills. A number are complex electrical questions that are difficult to troubleshoot on the car.
Yes even several unanswered filter questions. I am not stupid enough to fall for a Bart Simpson trick, neither are the others.
I hope you rethink your passion and open a number of zeros. Perhaps you can help find the answer for a problem or two. You will only get a thank you occasionaly, but when you do it feels great Allan

I concer with the response. I tried to join another VW forum and was treated very badly. I did all that was asked, which
wasn't much, and then after two months of waiting, I was told that I was banned for no reason, and was never to be activated.
This forum was a blessing. I joined and activated in just a few minutes. And he was right, most people join looking for answers,
not to give them. It will make it a little one sided until we all get comfortable with each other. I know how it is to get answers.
I was trying to get my radio static issue fixed. I waited on that other site and could'nt even get on. I finnally fixed it myself.
But there was alot of frustration. Did you by any chance offer your expertise to anyone else that needed help?
Come back and join the crowd.

Agreed. Sure the site isn't fully fortified and flourishing quickly but shit man, it has all the infrastructure needed to make it that way. So contribute, and then one day you might not find yourself bitching about people not helping you on your one posted problem but being part of a growing VDub forum. Be easy man.
