Smoke coming from vents? |
|
OK so i bought a used 1996 passat. Runs and drives fine. Defrost didnt work when i got it. takes a while to heat up and then only gets warm. Then after the first day of driving it started blowing smoke out of the vents. If i turn the air/heat off it still comes out of the vents. Worse with the heat temp up. Checked the antifreeze. there was none so i filled it up. drove home and checked the level in the morning. All gone. So i stopped at a gas station and put more in. when i went to put more in there was some in there but not enough. Some how came back up?
Any who if anyone could help identify why its smoking and how to make my heat work thatd be great. I live in michigan not very warm here

Hello from Canada, Failed heater core, sorry to say . That "SMOKE" is actually steam, and the cure is a heater core replacement. Allan
