Polo won't start |
|
Hi All
I have a 1998 polo and have had problems with it since December. The problem is that the car will not start. I have taken it to the garage several times and have had the following parts replaced:
Battery
Lambda sensor
Distributor cap
Rotor Arm
Coolant temp sensor
I recently had the car back and was informed that it was fine. I took it round the block and it stalled and started up ok went to park up and turned engine off, wanted to see if it was ok and would not start. Could hear car trying to rev up but no connection. Have taken it back to the same garage and they have told me they do not know what the problem is. Also took it out one day started ok in the morning left the car for a couple of hours and would not start up again.
Any suggestions would be great, also do you think i should take it to another garage next time.
Thank you

Hello from Canada, Behind your ignition key tumbler is a small switch that wears out. This is called your ignition switch.
I have changed a lot of them on various cars. If you are mechanically inclined you can change your own. You have classic symptoms of this dealer item failing. Allan
