Polo Twist 03/08 Juddering brakes |
|
My 05 Polo when applying the brakes esp first thing, the brake peddle judders under foot and makes noise, it feels like they aren't working as sharply. The passenger can also feel the judder. Have had it checked numerous times but they find nothing, pads have been changed 3 times!!! Help!! Any ideas or similar problems?

It does sound like the discs need replacing, if the pads are new and still getting a juddering sound/feeling. (Feels a little like the abs has kicked in)
If your brake pads are new, then youd prob get away with just new discs. if theyve been on there a bit, they might have worn or damaged by the pitted discs.
I'd of thought any gargage/mot testing center should be able to check this for you.

BRAKE JUDDER |
|
My 2001 plate Golf TDi has had a brake judder problem for over a year now. I have had the discs replace 5 times now and have had new brake pads, and new brake pipes, I have taken it to VW and private mechanics and no one seems to be able to come up with an answer to this problem! They keep telling me to change the discs, which works for the first 1000 miles then it begins to judder time and time again!! Can any one help me?

hello, I see a number of you with warped rotors. Including one, occurring every 1,000 miles. Older vehicles, not just vw
products were notorious for this issue when most had front drums. Metal warps due to excess heat. When you brake hard, there is a large amount of energy , that is almost all put in to your rotors. Hard braking equal very hot rotors.
Drilled and vented after market rotors are available, relatively inexpensive and work well. They have been developed by and for racing applications. They are about 15 minutes to install yourself on the fronts and longer on the rears. The after market , high end products also help prevent brake fade and run significantly cooler, thus resisting warpage. Allan
