POLO SPORT 16V idle problem?????

Hi Guys,

I am having a problem with the idle on my 03 Polo Sport

What happens is sometimes when the engine has warmed up I come to a junction or im in traffic where you start and stop, i press the clutch in and the idle drops really lower and then bounces back to normal but sometimes it stalls and I dont know what the problem is and also sometimes if i am just sitting in traffic the idle will bounce making the engine judder.

It happened again today on the way home from work, came to the end of the road press the clutch in and the idle goes really low and then stalled.

hey take it to an mot center and try and locate idle control valve it cud be sticking or the seat on the valve cudav
started to spilt try that if not just repace the vale itself not tha much but it cud be labour ur paying for

if your just having probs with idling and stalling, all you need is some carb cleaner.
take off the big air intake pipe at the air intake end and spray a liberal amount of carb cleaner in there. (in the pipe) put the pipe back on quickly to avoid the carb cleaner evaporating, fire it up, it will probably splutter a bit as the crap is burnt off. It should then settle down, worked for me i have a 97 1.6 polo.
Its best not to tamper with the TB itself.
