 mk4 startup problems |

Ive just bought a mk4 1998 model, and its just develoed a problem when i start it up, I have to rev it to get the engine going as I turn the key? Also, this has only happened once but last week it cut out when i was drivng. I coasted it to the side of the road and it took a couple of goes to get it started again.
Just wondering if anyone has any ideas or had any similar problems? Thanks!

Hi, i have a golf 4 and i know exactly what is your problem.....
U need to either Clean the Throttle Valve or change it. This is a common problem with the Golf4.
If you need to service your car soon then just get it cleaned.
You will always have this problem. If after cleaning it it still cut off, then you will need to change it.
