Hi i have a problem with my 1996 golf gti 2 litre 8 valve
vehicle runs fine after driving for 20 mins vehicle just cuts out and does not start again if you leave
vehicle for ten minutes vehicle it will start and drive fine i have changed the coil and ignition module
and just a precaution changed the rotor arm and dizzy cap any suggestions

Hello, It may surprise you, but one place to look is your ignition key switch. They wear out.
I would carry a 12 volt test lamp. next time it cuts out, leave the key on, and see if the coil is receiving power. If in fact it is, the problem may be the Hall effect trigger in your distributor. A Quick test is carry a spare new spark plug and when the failure occurs carefully pull a wire off one of the plugs . Plug the spare in and ground the outside against the engine. Then have someone crank the motor. If you have spark, let us know and we will point you further Allan
