 HELP vw polo error code |

hi to all, im trying to figure out whats wrong with my girlfriends car. its a polo "03" 1.4 automatic sport. a few weeks ago the oil light came on when she out so i advised her on what to do and all was ok. now a few days ago one of the engine management lights have come on. error code17550which i have been told could be problems with the throttle control unit, MAF sensor or accelerator pedalposition. i was also told that the first two are quite costly jobs? anyways they have cleared the fault but they are pretty sure the error code will come back.
is this a common problem with this mark polo? has anyone else had this and could anyone give me a rough idea on the cost of fixing this could be.
