Help Needed With Idle On Golf MK4 |
|
Hey guys, my 1999 golf has this idle problem, when its started regardless of engine temp or time of day, it revs up to about 2000 rpm, then settles to 1500 rpm then finally about the normal 900 rpm. Also when driving along and take foot off the accelerator the revs only drop to 2000 causing the car to pull its self, which as you can imagine is pretty dangerous, sand so help will be much apprecated, thanks.

Just spoke to a friend who is a mechanic and he said my problem is a idle float valve needs replacing, he also said that this could effect the idle both ways ( engine not idling ) so i hope this can help anyone else who had idle problems
