footwell problem polo se 1.4 2000 reg |

Hello I wonder if anyone could help me please
Hello i wonder if anybody could help me please
i'm a complete novice when it comes to cars
We recently bought a second hand Volkswagen polo se 2000 reg
We've never owned a polo before and know very little about them...
I’ve just noticed that the interior passenger foot well panel is missing ( the panel underneath the dash between the passenger and Engine space…I don’t know that the panel is called…in place of the panel is a sheet of foam, looks like insulation material....
I just want to know if this is dangerous...and is it possible to buy a replacement panel for the footwell?
Thanks
Chris

Chris
can you actually see daylight? If you have direct access to the engine through the passenger footwell I think you can safely say it is dangerous, take it to a garage immediately, it's not a job you're going to be able to do 'one weekend'. Remove the foam block, it maybe insulation to cut noise from the engine and you might find there is sheet metal behind it. You might be just missing the interior trim.

Hello from Canada, Good news, Its not dangerous, just a cosmetic issue. Most countries have Auto wreckers that you can contact by phone. another interesting source is Craigslist under auto parts. good luck Allan
