Axle Removal??? |
|
The axle on the front driver side is loose at the joint and I need to replace it... How hard is it to change this out? are the bolts that are on the axle the only thing that holds the axle on? how hard is it to remove the axle?
Its a 1999 Jetta Auto btw..... Thanks

Hello, In my garage with a pit, and a overhead hoist, this job takes about 15 minutes. Usually you will need to do this.
<1> Loosen axle nut <2> Securely raise car, and securely and safely block it. <3> remove steering ball joint
<4. remove axle to transmission fasteners <5> Remove axle nut Re and Re shaft. Put it back together. Allan
