2000 polo steering wheel removal. |
|
Hey guys.
The guy I lift share with has a 2000 polo and the indicator stalk wont click on so it has just failed its MOT. Anyway, I stupidly told him to get a new stalk and I would change it for him. I own a Focus (Ahem) and you just lift of the steering shroud and flick a little plastic tab and they come out. But he's being a volts is a little more in depth than that. It seems as though the steering wheel will have to come off so that leads me on to how you get the air bag out, Ive read you need to use some wire or a small flat blade screw driver in the two holes at the back of the steering wheel (once the battery has been disconected for half an hour). Is this correct, anything more in depth? Also after that is there anything else worth knowing about this job and its procedure. Thanks for any help or advice you guys can give me.
Regards
John
