1993 (K Reg) Golf 1400 (167,000 miles) |
|
We have owned a K Reg Golf since 1993, originally as a first car then as my runabout. However, the old girl is showing her age (the car, that is) and in the past two years has had a new clutch and gearbox. The bodywork is fairly okay and fundamentally she is a good runner.
We've had an offer of another, younger SH car from my relations. Is the K Reg worth advertising or should we sell her to a scrap merchant for parts ??

Hello, Sadly you are on a different continent than I am. A lot depends on the kms or mileage, and how it looks/operates.
I live in a rather snowy place where lots of salt is used on the roads. We often drive autos like yours until they die, then sell them. Yours may have years of faithfull life left. Try putting it for sale on craigslist. You may make someone very happy. Allan

The car has 167,000 on the clock.
I think we will advertise her. She would be a good first car for an 18 year old.
Many thanks.
