system too lean, bank 1 - that's what it says on computer scanner of my Corolla 01. How do i resolve this issue? any suggestions appreciated.

my 2000 toyota corolla's check engine light came up, after diagnosis, i had a system too lean code, after talking to my mechanic, he said it could be anything. it cant be the fuel injectors cuz i just had them done, whatever it is they do. and he said it most likely can be the mass airflow sensor. i hope i can afford this. any comments will be appreciated. thanks
