Post subject:Subaru Forum - Subaru AWD question.
I know that Subes are all pretty much AWD, and at first it sounds like great fun, but what is their MPG situation? Surely that must take a hit on gas intake. Does anyone have any familiarity on this?

I drive a 1996 Legacy LSi with 214,000 kms
and AWD of course. I get about 17-20 mpg with
an automatic. My last AWD was a 1996 Explorer
2dr. 4.0 got only 12-15 mpg. Which I have to say
does not hold a candle to the Subaru....no contest.
People don't need suv's just well equipped cars...
My Legacy is a pleasure to drive to this day!
Feels it could last another 200ks.
Have to drive one to feel the AWD.
I am sure the newer ones are a bit better
on gas.
