Hey everybody. I just picked up an 86 B2000 pickup on Friday. Pretty nice truck and seemed to run great. On my first day driving it home from work (Monday I'm cooking along about sixty-five and everything seems to be fine. Kinda all of the sudden I notice she's feelin a little sluggish so I headed for an off ramp. First thing I noticed is that she rattled pretty good when I gave it any gas. As soon as I let off the gas it died and I coasted to a stop. I have no idea when or where all the water went but it was gone. I never saw any steam or smelled any burnt antifreeze. I checked it the day before and it was just fine. One of the spark plug wires was actually on fire right at the plug and steam/smoke was pouring out from under the carb assembly. It was really, really hot. After it cooled off I turned it over a couple times real quick and it turned easy so it's not ceased up.
Okay, so here is my question. Is there a chance in hell that if I fix waterever water leak it's got and replace the wires and plugs she might be ok, or am I dreaming?
It was really hot.
Any advice or experiece anyone has had or could give would be greatly appreciated.
